The Dog who Cried Wolf by Keiko Kasza, shows an owner and a dog, who love being together Michelle loves reading books to Moka, one day she read a book about wolves. This is a funny and adorable little tale about a dog who decides he no longer wants to be a prissy house dog and goes out into the wild to become a wolf, but he quickly learns that he had it made back home with his best friend and owner. But then Michelle reads a book about monkeys. Once Moka realizes he is not the only one howling at the moon, be becomes frightened and realizes it wasn't so bad being a house pet.
Great for slightly older kids in storytime. This is a great story about being yourself and understanding the consequences of being bad. Then he began to try and hunt for food but just could not get anything.
The dog is so cute; his facial expressions and body language made him a very appealing companion animal. Also, The pictures created a great sense of the mood with the dark colors in the night illustrations with the moon portraying a dark and lonely mood, and the rest of the book with a lot of white and bright colors portraying the lively and light mood.
